Congratulations to Flora Paldi for her Prize « Jeunes Talents France L’Oréal-UNESCO Pour les Femmes et la Science 2026 » !

This programme in partnership with the French National Commission for UNESCO and the Academy of Sciences recognizes young female scientists for their outstanding work and strengthens the visibility of women in science.

Non-coding RNAs in genome organization

Akkawi et al. show that nuclear RNA exosome targeting complexes regulate cohesin binding and enhancer–promoter interactions by controlling the accumulation of noncoding RNAs, revealing a role for RNA surveillance in shaping 3D genome organization.

Kiernan Team- Nature Communications

How RAD18 promotes glioblastoma proliferation

Benbahouce et al., reveal an unexpected novel function of the RAD18 ubiquitin ligase in glioblastoma stem cells proliferation and tumor progression in mice, beyond its canonical role in DNA damage tolerance and DNA repair.

Maiorano Team – Cell Reports

Congrats to Sora Yang for her recent starting grants : ATIP-Avenir and PTL HiLight-Université de Montpellier

Sora started her new team at IGH on February 2026. She develops advanced single-molecule imaging methods to investigate translation regulation and RNA-protein interactions.

Review : Translation at biomolecular condensates

Haidar et al. discuss the emerging function of cytoplasmic RNP condensates in translation. They highlight the dual role of condensates in translational repression and activation.

Simonelig Team - Molecular Cell

Replicative function of condensin under topological stress

Da Mota et al reveal an evolutionarily conserved role for condensin in resolving topological stress at stalled replication forks, thus ensuring efficient replication restart and genome stability.

Molecular mechanisms of Camptothecin tolerance in proliferative cells

Courtes et al. show that the DNA damage response signaling pathway is actively attenuated at lesion sites induced by the anti-tumor drug camptothecin targeting the DNA topoisomerase 1 to promote replication completion and preserve genome stability.

Welcome to Roberta Ragazzini!

Roberta started her new team last April 2026 at IGH, with fundings from ATIP-AVENIR and FRM.
