Innovation

The IGH is strengthening its commitment to innovation with the creation of IGH Innovation, a dedicated department equipped with laboratory space and offices. This cross-functional hub, designed to support and promote the IGH’s applied research projects, benefits from direct access to state-of-the-art equipment and immediate synergy with the UAR BioCampus platforms. Through this strategic integration, IGH Innovation harnesses IGH’s leading scientific expertise, covering key areas such as genomics, drug development, and the molecular mechanisms of human diseases.

Its proximity to Genopolys, a space dedicated to exchanges between researchers and the public, offers unique opportunities to strengthen communication around projects, foster interdisciplinary exchanges, and broaden their visibility. This department is now in full swing. Its ambition: to become a major driver of translational research at IGH, transforming scientific discoveries into concrete innovations.

IGH Innovation acts as a catalyst to turn scientific discoveries into tangible applications. By centralizing resources and facilitating partnerships, it enables IGH teams to successfully carry out their projects while benefiting from personalized support. This department operates within a collaborative framework, supported by the commercialization unit of DR13 (CNRS) and the University Innovation Hub (PUI – University of Montpellier), to maximize the impact of research conducted at the institute.

Among the flagship initiatives, the RepliBIO project, initiated by Marcel Méchali and led by Philippe Pasero, exemplifies this ambition. Funded to the tune of 2.5 million euros under the PEPR BBTI and supported by a partnership with Généthon, RepliBIO embodies the synergy between basic research and biomedical applications. Other projects will soon be added to this portfolio, reflecting the diversity and excellence of the work conducted at the IGH.
