About the IGH

The Institute of Human Genetics (IGH, CNRS and Montpellier University, UMR 9002) is a leading research center dedicated to fundamental studies in genome biology and human pathology. With around 240 researchers, engineers, and students across 21 groups, the IGH focuses on three major axes:
- Genome dynamics and epigenetic control, including DNA replication and repair, recombination, retrotransposition, chromatin organization, and gene expression regulation.
- Developmental genetics and cell biology, combining model organisms such as Tetrahymena, Drosophila and mice to investigate germline and gonadal development, the Tubulin code and mRNA regulation.
- Molecular and cellular pathology, addressing cancer, inflammation, and immune disorders through studies on DNA metabolism, epigenetics, stem cell biology, and viral vectors for gene and cell therapy.
Equipped with advanced facilities and a vibrant training program for graduate students and postdocs, the IGH provides an exceptional environment for high-level molecular and biomedical research.
