The Institute of Human Genetics (IGH, CNRS and University of Montpellier, France) invites applications for a Principal Investigator position in its main research areas: genome dynamics and stability, genomics, epigenetics, RNA biology, computational biology and AI, cell biology, developmental biology, cancer biology immunogenetics and infectious diseases. The IGH welcomes outstanding candidates at all career stages, from junior group leaders to established senior investigators.

The IGH is one of Europe’s leading institutes in biology and biomedical research. It offers a diverse, inclusive and stimulating scientific environment, supported by core funding from the CNRS and the University of Montpellier.

Located on the Arnaud de Villeneuve biomedical campus, the IGH benefits from close links with the University Hospitals and the Faculty of Medicine. The campus also hosts the Institute of Functional Genomics (IGF) and the Center for Structural Biology (CBS), covering over 15,000 m2 of research space and benefits from state-of-the-art facilities for genomics, proteomics, high-throughput screening, advanced imaging, structural biology and biophysics provided by BioCampus Montpellier. The nearby Genopolys building offers additional spaces for scientific meetings, teaching, training and public outreach.

Candidates will be selected based on international scientific excellence, following the LIBRA guidelines to ensure inclusive, transparent and unbiased recruitment. They should meet criteria to obtain national and international grant funding. Particular emphasis will be placed on innovative and high-risk projects.

The successful candidate will receive dedicated laboratory space and strong institutional support from IGH. Successful junior candidate will benefit from a junior PI mentoring program that includes  lab‑management training, assistance with grant applications to French and international funding agencies, and structured follow‑up to support and boost the PI’s scientific activity.
