Génétique moléculaire du développement du cerveau adulte chez la drosophile

La génétique moléculaire du développement du cerveau adulte chez la drosophile est une science en émergence. On peut raisonnablement prévoir que les mécanismes géniques sous-tendant le développement du cerveau seront conservés chez les mammifères.

Chez la drosophile, des techniques mises au point récemment permettent maintenant d'aborder ce domaine de façon efficace.
Les corps pédonculés (CP) ''mushroom bodies'', considérés par certains comme l'analogue de l'hippocampe des mammifères, sont un excellent modèle pour étudier le développement du cerveau.

Trois types différents de neurones constituent les corps pédonculés. Ces neurones apparaissent séquentiellement au cours du temps, d'abord les γ puis les a'ß' et enfin les aß.
De plus, les CP sont indispensables à la mémoire olfactive.

Nous avons introduit au laboratoire un paradigme de mémorisation basé sur le comportement de cour des males (en collaboration avec M.L.Parmentier et Y. Grau, IGF). Nous pouvons donc corréler le développement d'une structure du cerveau et sa fonction.
